1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using CommandGate ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.
These terms apply to all users of the CommandGate desktop application and any associated hosted services.
2. Service Description
CommandGate is an AI-powered system diagnostics agent that connects a large language model to your local terminal. The Service allows you to describe system problems in natural language, after which the AI agent determines and executes appropriate shell commands to diagnose issues and provide answers.
The Service operates with hosted authentication and metered billing.
3. User Responsibilities
As a user of CommandGate, you agree to:
- Use the Service only for lawful purposes and in compliance with all applicable laws
- Take responsibility for all commands executed through the Service on your systems
- Maintain the security of your account credentials
- Not use the Service to intentionally damage, disable, or impair any system or network
- Not attempt to reverse-engineer, exploit, or misuse the hosted service infrastructure
- Review AI-generated recommendations before acting on them in production environments
4. AI Usage
CommandGate uses AI models to process your diagnostic queries. You are responsible for:
- Understanding that your prompts are processed by AI models
- Reviewing AI-generated output before acting on it
- Any consequences of executing commands suggested by the AI
- Not submitting sensitive credentials or secrets in your prompts
CommandGate processes your queries by forwarding prompts to AI providers for the current session. We do not permanently store your prompt content on our servers. See our Privacy Policy for details on how your data is handled.
5. Billing & Subscriptions
If you use CommandGate with our hosted billing service:
- Subscription plans and pricing are as displayed at the time of purchase
- Payments are processed securely through Stripe
- You may cancel your subscription at any time; access continues until the end of the billing period
- We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days notice to existing subscribers
- Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis
6. System Commands Disclaimer
Critical Notice: CommandGate executes real system-level diagnostic commands on your machine. The AI agent determines which commands to run based on your queries.
You are solely responsible for reviewing the output and recommendations provided by the agent before taking any action on production systems or sensitive environments.
- Commands are executed with the permissions of the user running CommandGate
- The AI agent may run diagnostic commands including process inspection, log analysis, network checks, and disk usage analysis
- We strongly recommend running CommandGate with least-privilege access appropriate for your use case
- CommandGate is not responsible for any unintended consequences of commands executed by the AI agent
- Always verify agent suggestions before applying changes to critical systems
7. Intellectual Property
CommandGate is proprietary software. The CommandGate name, logo, branding, and source code are the property of CommandGate and may not be used, modified, or distributed without permission.
Any data, diagnostics, or output generated by your use of the Service belongs to you. We claim no ownership over your data or the results produced by the agent on your systems.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, CommandGate and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, system downtime, loss of profits, or damage to systems, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.
Our total liability for any claims related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated diagnostics will be accurate or complete.
10. Termination
You may stop using CommandGate at any time by uninstalling the application. If you have a subscription, you may cancel it through your account settings.
We may suspend or terminate your access to hosted services if you violate these terms, engage in abusive behavior, or fail to pay applicable fees. Upon termination, your right to use all services ceases.
11. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction.
12. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by posting the updated terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
